0:30.2	a pretty serious murder case. You guys did a great book about it. But I guess just to start off,
0:45.5	how did you guys pair up to create like this dynamic duo of crime solving?
0:48.4	So I was working in the New York office, the FBI.
0:50.4	This is around 1998.
0:52.6	I was assigned to a squad.
0:56.4	We investigated unsolved murders, specifically like mob cases, organized crime type of things. And I had heard John on the radio. There was a very popular
1:00.6	radio station where he would come on and claim that if he spoke to you, he could connect
1:04.6	to your past loved ones. And I thought it was a bunch of nonsense. And it actually kind of
1:09.4	bothered me a bit. And when I heard him come in the radio, I'd shut it off. And then a week or two later, I'd hear him again and again, I would shut the radio off. And after hearing him repeatedly, I decided to call his office and make an appointment. And I brought to him a case that I had been working at the time involving a guy who was married to a couple of women who had disappeared. There were no witnesses, leads or suspects in the case.
1:30.7	His assistant told me kind of quickly, hey, would you be available tomorrow?
1:34.6	And I didn't even expect that this guy was going to meet with me.
1:38.4	So I went to see him.
1:39.8	And just to kind of prove to myself that this guy was not legitimate, I brought with me items
1:46.9	that did not belong to the case.
1:48.7	So I was asked to bring belongings that belonged to the woman I was looking for.
1:53.4	So that day, I went around the office and got objects to belong to other women.
1:57.1	And I put him in the bag with items that belong to the victim.
