This is the reason interview with Nick Gillespie. My guest today is the Libertarian Party candidate for

President Chase Oliver, who wants to phase out Social Security and Medicare for younger Americans,

create a 21st century version of Ellis Island, and get the government completely out of bedrooms

and boardrooms. A longtime anti-war activist, he also wants to bring

American troops home and slash the Pentagon's budget. But despite such ultra-libertarian

positions, a number of high-profile Libertarian Party figures and state parties have declined

to endorse him because he's not part of the group's mezes caucus,

and he believes that the non-surgical transitioning of minors should be decided by doctors, parents,

and kids without the state intervening. I talked with Chase about his opposition to mask and

vaccine mandates, which has often been totally misrepresented by his critics,

how he first encountered the Libertarian Party at a gay pride event, and whether he's encountered

homophobia among the LP faithful, and why he thinks millennials and zoomers are particularly

ready to listen to libertarian ideas after constantly

being lied to by boomers like Donald Trump, Kamala Harris, and RFK Jr.

Okay. So let's, I want to start with a replay of a question that you've been asked.

You know, come on, Chase, you're a third party candidate, gun to the head, Kamala Harris or Donald Trump. What happened? The gun would go off. My answer is not changed just because the Democrats

have changed their nominee. I wasn't impressed with

Kamala Harris as a VP candidate. She's not really impressing me as a presidential candidate.
