The whole world knows what happened to Charlie Kirk. People everywhere have been reeling from the shock.

But for me, this isn't just a headline. Charlie was my friend. Somebody who stood boldly for the truth,

for righteousness, and for freedom. Charlie was a man that the world could not afford to lose, especially right now,

and I want to share my thoughts with you.

Not just about what happened, but what Charlie and his life and his death have meant for me,

what I believe it means for you and for the future of us

as Americans. I've been thinking long and hard about what to say. When my wife and I first heard

the news, we were in utter shock and disbelief. We were in a remote part of the mountains in California, and we were speechless.

Our hearts went immediately to his wife and to his children, and we began to pray. Our whole family

began to pray for Charlie's family. And for days, we were stunned, overcome by grief,

by sadness. I'll be honest, I was filled with anger and fury. I just couldn't wrap my mind around

it. Charlie Kirk is dead. Honestly, I sometimes still can't. It doesn't

seem real. And some of you have been asking why I haven't posted something about this. And there

were so many people who were posting so quickly and frankly, many of them were very honoring to Charlie and some of them just

weren't it felt like people with a internet social media platform were writing the algorithm

of Charlie's death on the internet for clicks and And I didn't want to do that. I wanted to take the time

to collect my thoughts, to pray, so that when I returned, I could share them with you. Charlie was 31 years

old. My son is 29 years old, and he is a man of deep faith,

of character, of courage. And so as a dad, when I think about Charlie's death, especially

in the brutal way that it happened, and for the reason that it happened to be honest fueled my fears as a

father of raising godly young men and women in this culture and it's also fueled my passion for

encouraging and equipping them to live the same kind of life that Charlie and other heroes of the faith
