Well, perhaps the word delightful is a bit misleading.

Mind you, a spot of lively discourse doesn't bother me in the slightest.

I'm grateful for whatever company I can find.

It's no secret that writing is a lonely business.

Well, so too is time travel. I've got just the one captain's chair and the time

machine and I must always keep the

rumble seat available for the author or authors I'm transporting back with me and

while meeting new people from distant places and space and time is always fascinating. It does get a bit tiresome,

having to explain who I am and when I'm from and why does this rag smell so peculiar over and over again.

One starts to crave interaction with others who have shared experiences in a place where, if you will, everybody knows your name.

Unfortunately, the selling of alcohol is strictly prohibited in the time stream due to a certain

traveler and I won't name names imbibing irresponsibly, then wedging his police callbox sideways into a bally wormhole, disrupting the rest of us and creating

a veritable avalanche of paradoxes.

If you only knew how many times I've had to murder my own grandfather just to start things over

with a clean slate, it'd be enough to give you a case of the collie wobbles.
