One of my favorite stories is in Gary Keller's book, The One Thing.

Towards the end, he talks about a father

and a son.

I'm going to kind of paraphrase it

and give my best interpretation here.

It's been a while since I've read it.

But in this story, there's a father and a son.

The father's tucking his son into bed.

And he says, son, I want you to know tomorrow, I took the entire day off, and it's going to be you and me.

And we're going to play and enjoy the day and have an amazing time. And the son is so excited to hear this that he can barely fall asleep.

It just makes his day, lights him up. So father says, good night, walks out. Eventually the kid

falls asleep. Fast forward to the next day. Bright and early, the father's downstairs sitting

at his table. He hears his son, you know, the little footsteps sprinting across the hall, and he goes, here we go.

Down the stairs, the kid comes, sits at the kitchen table right across from his father.

He goes, Dad, let's go, let's go, it's time.
