Welcome to Before Breakfast, a production of IHeart Radio.

Good morning. This is Laura. Welcome to the Before Breakfast podcast. Today's tip is to change the order. Sometimes by shifting the order of things you do frequently, you can make your schedule just a little bit more efficient.

0:31.4

So I will confess that these days I am not usually conditioning my hair in the shower. I just kind of gave up on that.

0:38.3

But years ago, when I cared more about such things, I got frustrated that a lot of conditioners

0:43.1

said you were supposed to leave them in your hair for a few minutes. I would get in the shower,

0:48.7

soap up, and then do shampoo and then conditioner, and at that point, I was kind of just sitting there,

I used to pull the eggs out of the fridge first because, hey, the task is frying eggs,

1:38.8

so it seemed like pulling the eggs out should be the first step.

1:41.8

Then I would turn on the stove and wait.

1:46.0

But then I realized that if I started heating up the pan on the stove and then pulled out the eggs from the fridge, it would be hot enough to crack them on there

1:50.7

by the time I brought my two eggs over to the pan. Now, to be sure, I sometimes make fun of little

1:58.5

hacks like this. It's not like if everything else was chaotic,

2:03.0

that switching the order of steps in my egg-frying habit

2:06.3

would change anything about my life.
