(3:00) Time seems to lag, especially during indoor exercise. (8:00) Because it’s hard and can be boring. Just get active! They chat about getting into a flow state. (18:30) Chris mentions a second study about the perception of overall quality of life. (20:00) Nurses, 385 of them, were followed for a year and then asked for their perception of quality of life. The study was a self-assessment, not following health markers. Exercise increased positive outcomes and “compassion satisfaction.” Vinnie laments the lack of real physical fitness challenges in schools. (23:00) He has been reducing his screentime by putting himself on a “phone diet.” (23:15) The average reported phone time for most people is just under 8 hours! (26:30) Vinnie gives a breakdown of what that amount of screen time translates into the average person’s life. You are not living and enjoying your life when you are addicted to your phone. (28:00) Exercise boosts memory (both brain function and accessible memory) across all ages. (31:00) All exercise, including yoga or tai chi, improves memory.
