It's kind of funny because I haven't read all of your books, but it seems like everyone that I know who was like, oh, I'm interviewing Stephen Grant Jones to the podcast have read all of your books and have probably are more equipped to ask you all kinds of questions about all of your books and I've only sadly only read like a couple maybe three novels, three of the novels, I started reading Earth Divers which is really cool.

You know, I have a lot of questions for you but you know my first question is how you got into

horror because you know something like me growing up native in a really rural environment. My dad would we'd have these like

seven dollar movie rental specials at the local theater and he'd buy like seven

cassettes for seven dollars some VHS's and it would always just be like

child's play you know Halloween and we would get to watch Ninja Turtles at the very you know at the very end of the

night after we were thoroughly scared shitless.

You know, it's funny because that's exactly where it starts for me too.

I mean, I grew up really rural as well.

But, man, when I was in eighth grade, I guess it was, I was living down outside Austin a little bitty town.

Somehow I got to running with a group of friends.

They were seventh, eighth grade as well.

And one of them had a brother or a sister who worked at the video store, the rental, and we had some scam going on where if we showed up right after school, then we could take a stack, like six or seven VHS.
