The last thing that you would think a professional quarterback that you see on TV would have is an active LinkedIn page.

However, that's exactly the case for Edmonton Elk starting quarterback Taylor Cornelius.

Cornelius enters his third year in the league this season, and he does still have that LinkedIn page active.

And something that stands out

to me is if you scroll down, there's a comment about Yard Barber in Amarillo, Texas. It's a

landscaping company that has serviced the city of Amarillo since 2005. Cornelius had it active as a

present job that he had worked because he needed to work an extra job.

As a quarterback in the CFL, he was earning the minimum of just $60,000 per year.

That was until last September when Chris Jones, the new GM and head coach of the Edmonton Elks,

gave him an extension which will pay him a groundbreaking

for him salary of $400,000. Earlier in March, Edmonton 630 AM radio, Morley Scott hosted an interview

with Taylor Cornelius and he asked Taylor, what's different going into 2023 for the quarterback?

Cornelius laughed and he said,

Morley, it's the first season in my entire life.

I haven't had to work a job in the offseason.

Cornelius had been going back to Amarillo, Texas,

even in his XFL days in 2020,

working for yard barber.

So what did Cornelius do different?

Scott pressed him for the answer, and Cornelius said, well, instead of working that

extra job, I got to spend the offseason in San Diego.
