and co-host of the Shift podcast. Today's guest is Amnon Shoshua, CEO of Mobile Eye. He spoke to automotive news's

Jerry Hirsch about humanoid robots and autonomous driving systems. A intelligence robot

with the dexterity of a human and being able to follow instructions, being able to

observe and imitate what it observes at the cost structure that's a cost

of a car. I think the world is ready for it. And the technology is ready, just a matter of productizing.

But first, let's talk about the week. For that, I'm joined by my automotive news colleague,

Lawrence Iliff. Hi, Lonnie. Hey, it's great to be here.

So here we are at the Las Vegas Convention Center's West Hall. What has been your top line

takeaway from the show? I would say there's two. One is a lot of people are talking about this. Like,

CES kind of used to be turning into an auto show and the automakers would come here.

And, you know, some of the auto shows didn't feel great about that because CS was like the new platform for them to introduce EVs, etc.

And that is not true this time as the kind of the trend of EV announcements has gone away

with the changes in policy and pullbacks from automakers.

This is really a technology show. And you know, we heard that from some of the people we've talked to is now it's tech.

But what's great about it is the tech that goes on the cars.

The vehicles, automobiles are still the best vehicle for all this tech that's coming in terms

of, you know, robotics, in vehicle entertainment, you know, playing video games in your vehicles.

And so I find that like really cool. The other thing is kind of the hype versus reality.

And as I talk to people, it's like some people are like, yeah, we're going to build robots.

And we have this, we have that.
