have taken the world by storm, occurring many millions of users far more quickly than any previous

consumer technologies have. But economists, technologists, and politicians all have different views on

how optimistic or pessimistic we should be about this technology. On the one hand, it could prove to be

transformational from everything from cancer screening to drug discovery to astronomy and all realms of

science. And for Europe in particular, there is a huge economic potential. Europe's had low

productivity growth for many years, particularly in its services sector. And really deploying AI

can offer the opportunity to boost that and to catch up with some of the growth that countries
