I'm Ian Bond, the CER's Director of Foreign Policy.

And it's a great pleasure to be joined today by Rosa Balfour,

who's the director of Carnegie Europe based in Brussels, and by Andrea Kendall Taylor,

senior fellow and director of the Transatlantic Security Program at the Center for a New

American Security, a think tank in Washington, D.C.

And also somebody who had me on her podcast a couple of years ago, so this is payback time.

And we're going to be talking about Joe Biden's European Grand Tour, or rather about a part of it.

Biden's first engagements in Europe are a bilateral visit to the UK, including meetings with Boris Johnson and with the Queen and then the G7 summit in Cornwall.

But the more interesting part of the program, at least I guess for foreign policy wonks like us, comes after that when Biden will be taking part in the first

full-scale NATO summit since 2018 and I think the first proper EU-US summit since 2014.
