Summary

Palm Sunday is the day Jesus’s followers celebrated his victory before he entered the battle that would define human history. Out of John chapter 12, Mosaic Lead Pastor Erwin McManus illuminates this remarkable moment in Jesus’s life and legacy like never. No one celebrating in the streets of Jerusalem on Palm Sunday could have known the magnitude of the victory that was yet to be won. 0:32.3	One of the curious things about Palm Sunday is that the whole dynamic of Palm Sunday
0:37.8	is about triumph, it's about conquests, it's about celebration, it's about festival.
0:43.5	And it almost feels as if Palm Sunday should come after Easter, not before a good Friday.
0:51.0	Even the way John describes it, what you have is this intersection of the Passover celebration
0:56.5	and they really had no idea that God had established in history this moment of celebration
1:02.8	that would be layered over the sacrifice of Jesus.
1:07.4	They were celebrating a victory, they did not understand, was about to take place.
1:13.2	And John chapter 12 beginning in verse 12, John tells us this.
1:17.2	This is the next day, the great crowd that had come for the festival, heard that Jesus
1:21.3	was on his way to Jerusalem.
1:23.1	They took Palm branches and went out to meet him shouting,
1:25.7	Huzanna, blessed as he who comes in the name of the Lord, blessed as the King of Israel.
1:30.7	Jesus found a young donkey and sat on it as it is written.
1:35.4	Do not be afraid, daughters, Ion, see your king is coming seated on a donkey's cult.
1:40.6	At first his disciples did not understand all this.
