Hello and a warm welcome to the first in a series of bonus Scotland Outdoor podcasts.

As you know, we publish a podcast every Saturday based on the radio programme we do for BBC Radio

Scotland, it's called Out of Doors.

But that programme's been on the go a long time, and we have a considerable archive of some pretty

fascinating stuff that we think you might enjoy listening to.

So, midweek, from now, we're going to try and publish these additional bonus Scotland Outdoor podcasts.

The 21st of April there marked the 180th anniversary of the birth of Scots-born naturalist John Muir,

the man who's normally credited with being the father of the National Parks Movement in America.

So we thought we'd give you a chance to hear a special program we recorded in 2016

about him in a place he loved a great deal, Yosemite National Park in California. This is 90 minutes

worth, so hopefully you'll enjoy it. We're going to leave it up forever, so you can listen to it again,

or share it with friends that other people know about it.
