began publishing a daily comic strip featuring characters name Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Linus,

Lucy and Schroeder among others, which he would go on to write and draw for 50 years

publishing over 17,000 daily scripts and making it arguably the longest story ever told

by one human being. And 55 years ago this week, a primetime TV special based on those

characters premiered on CBS, a show that's aired every year since and been seen by hundreds
