Good evening, children.

It's Granny Maduff, ready with a story.

So make yourselves comfy, and I'll begin. Once upon a time, there lived a little snail called Cedric.

He had a lovely shell, which his mother taught him to take excellent care of.

Your shell is your home, she would say.

You must take good care of it for it is the only one you'll get.

And Cedric did take great care.

So much care in fact that he never went anywhere.

He just stayed close to his mother under the ferns in the forest where they lived.

One day, Cedric decided he wanted to see what was under the hoster just beside the fern.

He knew that some of the other little snails played there in the afternoons, and he wanted to join in on the fun.

His mother was having a nap and would certainly not go with him.

But he had to go.

So he did.

He crawled out from under the fern and crossed through a ray of sunlight.

How lovely it was!

Finally, he found himself under the hostel.
