Donald Trump says U.S. China deal done, in quotes, as two sides restore trade war truce.

U.S. President reveals agreement struck with Beijing covers rare earths.

The explanation, in his post on a true social network, the U.S. President hailed a breakthrough

reached in a bilateral talks in London the night before.

Charles, this may or may not be good news, but it does emphasize again that

Mr. Trump sees China as a mono-a-mano affair. There's a photograph of Xi Jinping and Donald Trump

standing very close to each other at some event from 2019 before the pandemic. This news about a truce in the trade war is welcomed by all, I believe, if it stands up to

scrutiny.

However, Xi Jinping has been troubled by reports for some time.

Will this restore Xi Jinping to the revered status he held before the

pandemic? Good evening to you. Good evening. No, I don't think so. And I'm skeptical of this deal.

You know, how do you get the Chinese to actually commit to supply the rare earths that they have

more or less near monopoly on, you know,

has China ever made a deal whereby they actually committed to follow it forever?

I mean, it's just a history of reinterpretations and denials of concessions and so on, including the most recent May negotiations.

And, you know, I presume that Mr. Trump will be required to make concessions with regard to not restricting the access of Chinese spies to the United States labs and influence operations.
