Summary

Welcome to a new storytelling segment from me featuring original fables and teaching stories written to inspire, soften, and reconnect you to the truth of who you are. Story Time speaks to the heart, not the inner critic — bypassing logic and landing directly in the part of you that remembers your worth.

This story will help you put down the heavy "perfect jar" you've been carrying and reconnect to the part of you that was always enough.

Hi everybody and welcome back to the show. I am really excited about today's podcast because

0:09.7

I'm starting something new. I'm going to call it story time and it's something I felt

0:15.7

I've wanted to add to this podcast for a long time and I was speaking at one of my friends' events

0:20.6

and told

0:22.1

some of the stories that I've written there and people loved it. So I thought you may love it as well.

0:28.2

So every so often on a coach's corner, I'm going to share an original story I've written,

0:33.1

a story created specifically for you to teach, to inspire, to soothe, and to help you remember

0:39.4

who you really are underneath the roles, responsibilities, patterns, and expectations

0:44.1

that you place on yourself and that others place on you. Here's why I love stories. Stories

0:51.1

touch a part of us that logic can't reach. We can hear advice or tools or steps

0:56.0

a hundred million times, but a single story can bypass our defenses, slip past that inner critic,

1:03.2

and land directly in the part of our brain that feels and imagines and remembers and awakens truth.

1:09.0

So stories speak right to the right hemisphere of the brain,

1:12.4

the place where metaphor and where emotion and intuition and deep wisdom live. It's a part of the

1:18.0

brain that also holds our earliest memories, our identity, all the compensatory strategies we form

1:24.6

to survive. And you know, we work so much on the show with our past and our

1:30.8

inner child. And I feel like adding the story element is just going to help that part of you even

1:36.6

more. Because a well-told story doesn't just educate us. It shifts us. It really creates that

1:43.3

bridge between the conscious and subconscious mind.

1:47.5

It helps us see ourselves with compassion. And it really opens a door to change that

1:53.6

sometimes information and awareness can't alone. So humans have been learning through stories

2:00.0

since the beginning of time, through myths,
