Hey, good morning. I'm Paige Browning. It's Friday. This is Seattle now. This week,

Washdot began two years worth of work on I-5. The University District lost its last movie

theater, and Sound Transit is making a big switch from cloth to vinyl seats.

Stranger News Editor Vivian McCall and Arts and Culture Writer Jazz Kaimagar here to break down the week.

But first, let's get you caught up.

Seattle's annual marches to honor Martin Luther King Jr. Day are this weekend. On Saturday,

the city hosts a march. It all starts at 11 a.m. at MLK Junior Memorial Park, with live

entertainment and speeches from youth. Then people will march to the Rainier Community Center.

There's also a rally in March on Monday, hosted by the MLK Jr. Organizing Coalition.

People will gather for that at 11 a.m. at Garfield High School. Just when we thought light rail

would save us from I-5 construction, more disruptions are happening this weekend for ongoing

maintenance in the downtown tunnel. Here are the times. tonight from 10 p.m. until the last train

of the night, then again Sunday from sun up until noon. As for where, no trains will run from the

Capitol Hill to Soto stations. Instead, shuttle buses will come for passengers every 15 minutes.

Mercifully, light rail maintenance is not happening on Saturday because of the Seahawks

playoff game.
