The family consisted of Andreas the 63-year-old patriarch of the family, his 72-year-old wife Cazilia, their 35-year-old daughter Viktoria and her 2 children ages 7 and 2. The entire family was found to be brutally murdered on April 4th of that year. Leading up to their murders, the family was the subject of many rumors and town gossip mostly surrounding the parentage of Viktoria’s 2-year-old son Josef. Members of the family had reported strange happenings around the property. Sightings of a strange mustached man in the forests surrounding the farm and footsteps in the attic had driven the family maid to leave the employment of the Grubers after suffering several nights of sleeplessness due to this. There were even reports of strange footprints in the snow that seemed to disappear into thin air. Were the Gruber’s the victims of something supernatural? A vicious serial killer?
