After first employing him, they travelled to Worcester's uncle's country house in response to his fiancée Florence's urgent message. It transpired that she was mortified

by his uncle's debauchress manuscript and charged Worcester to destroy it before it was published.

Worcester reluctantly agreed and wandered off to consider the matter.
