We're going to go to Mark 14 before we do.

I think I'll read a little bit out of Matthew 26, a little bit out of John 12.

I would say I'm going to review the part I shared this morning,

but the part I shared this morning had nothing to do with anything I was ever planning on sharing.

And as much vulnerability as there wasn't this

morning, I'm actually praying God never makes me repeat what I said this morning again.

All right. So let's let's let's start over in Matthew 26, all three the same story. Some people

have argued that over the years. They're wrong. We're right. Matthew 26.

This is all the same story.

Verse 6.

Jesus went to Bethany to the home of Simon, a man Jesus had healed of leprosy.

Somebody I would say amen to that that was in here this morning.

A woman came into the house holding an alabaster flask

filled with fragrant and expensive oil she walked right up to Jesus and a lavish gesture of

devotion greatest words in these stories right here a lavish gesture of devotion she poured out the

costly oil it cascaded over his head as he was at the table. Now you need to understand a little bit about the table. The table wasn't our kind of table. The table would have been about that high off the ground. You watching me? The table would have been about that high off the ground. It would have been surrounded by pillows and they would have and they would have eaten like this.

Got that?

So when he's not sitting at an upright chair at a table, she pours oil over him.

He's in a reclining position.
