Second Samuel, Chapter 9. Can you go there with me?

And let me just jump right into this tonight. Thank you, Lord.

Many of you probably were not there to see Todd do the horse breaking demonstration, but it really was

phenomenal. But the most fascinating thing for me and several other people that I talked to

is the horse that he broke that night. They don't call it breaking horses anymore. They call it

starting horses because we even have to be politically correct in that. But if you're going to use it

for a gospel message, it's very important that the horse come into a place of brokenness in order for

it to be rescued. Amen? And so one of the things that we learned about the horse is that it had

had a lame front left foot. The front left hoof had been damaged. The horse was slated to be

given for slaughter, be turned into dog food.

But a veterinarian rescued the horse, rehabilitated the leg, and it became an incredible picture of the gospel of us.

The horse's name was Cash, and it was just tremendous to watch the horse go from running away from Todd at the beginning to the event,

and 30 to 40 minutes later, his son is sitting on the horse.

It's just an amazing thing.

And what was interesting to me is Todd's oldest son Colton

sat on the horse, not Todd.

Todd just came off of a pretty significant elbow surgery. He actually had this

big huge thing on his elbow. You couldn't see under his coat. But his son, the night before,

we ate dinner with him, was in a walking boot because he just had surgery on his foot. Well,

this is the first time he'd put a boot on that foot. So he puts a boot on the foot, climbs onto the horse with the injured foot.
