Summary

Carmen Miranda lived her life to a beat that was all her own. The incredible singer, dancer and all around entertainer brought her colorful and creative spirit to audiences on the stage and screen for decades, becoming one of the highest paid women in the United States after emigrating there in the 1940’s. Her star rose and fell and rose again but above it all, she was Carmen! [This episode originally aired October, 2020.] About the Narrator Storm Large is a musician, actor, playwright, and author. She has sung and performed in bands for decades from San Francisco to Portland. In addition to developing a cult-like following for her own band, The Balls, Storm is also a co-lead singer for the internationally acclaimed, multi-lingual, orchestra, Pink Martini.
