In fact, I look forward to bringing you conversations every

single day that hopefully inspire you in your faith walk, that deepen your understanding of God's

word, and that heightens your awareness of his very real presence in your life. You know, so often

you can see two extremes in the church, those who overserve to the point of exhaustion, and those who don't serve at

all, either because they burned out in the past or they never engaged in the first place.

Scripture clearly tells us that we each play a role in the greater kingdom story, that he's

writing on the earth today. But he doesn't invite us to grind our gears to the point of exhaustion.

There is an ebb and a flow to this

life of faith. I would say Jesus modeled sacrificial service and also ample times away with the

father. There's a way to find a healthy rhythm that's sustainable. And I think we need to look at what's

driving our striving and even driving our hiding. Are we trying to prove our

worth and all of our overdoing? Are we trying to protect ourselves in all of our hiding?

How do we live out our call in a godly, healthy, faith-filled way? One thing that I've learned

is to respect my limits, but to not stop there, to appeal to a God who has no limits.

It's easy to get burnt out,

get so self-protective that you pull back, and you never stretch yourself again, you never serve sacrificial again because it's almost like traumatic to even think about going there.
