I like this old poem.

It's called a builder or a wrecker.

It goes like this.

As I watched them tear a building down, a gang of men in a busy town with a ho-heave-ho

and a lushy yell, they swung a beam and the side wall fell.

I asked the foreman, are these men skilled? And the men you'd hire if you wanted to build?

He gave a laugh and said, no, indeed, just common labor is all I need. I can easily wreck in a day or two

what builders have taken years to do. And I thought to myself as I went my way, which these roles I try to play am I a builder who works

with care measuring life by rule and square am I shaping my work with a well-made plan patiently doing the

best I can or am I a wrecker who walks to town content with the labor of tearing down?

Oh, Lord, let my life be labors, pardon me, oh, let my life and my labors be that which will build

for eternity. I like that old poem because you are probably a builder or a wrecker, depending on who you are.

Do you write, now, now there's a couple angles you can look at that. One, are you one who tears down other people?

Do you know those people that like to take people down a notch just to make themselves feel better?

You know, you see that all the time. And those are wreckers. The Bible says you and I are to build

each other up, encourage one another and build each other up.

So that's a notion that we should know and think about.

But what I want to talk to you about is your own life personally.

Are you building your life or wrecking your life?

That's the question.

To build your life?
