My name is Iman Abdul-Hadi and I have the honor of chairing today's session

on care not courts resisting carceral psychiatry and the pathologization of dissent. So we have a very

capable and exciting panel today and I'm actually just super, super excited to hear them speak.

So I will pass it on to them.

I'm going to start with by introducing our first speaker.

Liat bin Moshe is an activist scholar working at the intersection of incarceration,

abolition and disability slash madness, author of Dearcerating disability, deinstitutionalization,

and prison abolition, and co-editor of disability incarcerated. She is an associate professor

of criminology, law, and justice at the University of Illinois at Chicago. And you can learn more

Hello. So thank you so much for that wonderful introduction. It's been, you know,

really hard to think through what to highlight for you today. Situation is dire on so

many fronts. And so when we all kind of joined together to talk about what do we want to talk about, there

were too many things.

So we decided to really micro focus on one thing, but we're very open in the Q&A to, you

know, open, to open it up more broadly. And the reason is
