Let's open up to the family of Proclamation to the World, paragraph 6.

Do you want to know the moment I knew I would marry my husband, Kyle?

As the ward activities chair at our college ward, I was responsible for decorations and costumes for a ward Friendsgiving party.

I planned to make over 100 paper hats for everyone in the ward to wear as they arrived to the party.

As the party day arrived, my committee members were all suddenly too busy to help me cut out, glue,

and tape each of these hats out of the construction paper that I had. Now, Kyle and I had

recently started dating and I thought that I would reach out to see if he would help me. So I ran to his

apartment with stacks of construction paper and a few samples. He immediately set aside whatever

homework he was doing to help me out. A few hours later,

I got a text that they were all done. It was a big enough task that I knew it had taken him

quite a bit of sacrifice to do. And it was in that moment that I realized just how kind and loving he was.

In the sixth paragraph of the family proclamation, we read, husband and wife have a solemn responsibility

to love and care for each other.

Part of respecting the sanctity of marriage is loving and serving your spouse if you were married.

We can grow our love when we choose to serve the people around us.

So the takeaway of the day, in five words or less, love and serve
