Hello and welcome to Zoey Shorts, the bike size podcast where we discuss one topic around

0:06.3

science and nutrition. I'm Jonathan Wolf and today I'm joined by Professor

0:10.4

Javier Gonzales, a professor and world expert on nutrition and exercise and today's subject

0:17.9

is cardio exercise.

0:22.3

Now most of us know that we need to exercise regularly to get health benefits but it's

0:27.4

often hard to work out exactly what sort of workouts and how much of it we should be doing.

0:32.8

1:20.8

classes that she was discussing with me. Hit classes, zumba, yoga you know to name the three that I

1:26.6

remember and she was telling me that she's specifically interested in cardio exercise. Now before we

1:32.4

go any further I hear this word cardio used a lot but I'll be honest I really understand exactly

1:38.6

what it means can you explain it? Yeah so I think we should perhaps firstly address what isn't

1:43.9

considered cardio and that would be things like strength type activities things like weight lifting

1:50.6
