| 0:20.0 | I want to close this up because you'll see this in various articles and different books. |
| 0:27.0 | And this is what they say, carbs are the body's most important source of fuel. |
| 0:34.0 | They'll say that glucose is the most important source of energy in the body. |
| 0:39.0 | Now, what does that mean most important source of energy? |
| 0:43.0 | Does that mean it's the healthiest source of energy? |
| 0:47.0 | I guess the question is, I need clarification on what they mean by most important. |
| 0:53.0 | Because the more important question is this. |
| 0:55.0 | What fuel source gives the body the most health? |
| 1:00.0 | Sometimes they'll say that the brain is dependent on glucose as a major energy source. |
| 1:06.0 | And then in the next sentence, they'll say ketones are an alternative source of energy, usually used when you're starving. |
| 1:12.0 | And so they kind of put ketones in a negative light, like they're an alternative fuel source, or you only make ketones when you're starving. |
| 1:19.0 | They won't usually mention fasting or intermittent fasting. It sounds pretty dangerous. |
| 1:24.0 | They might also add in their ketoacidosis, say, very rare condition for type 1 diabetics where you're not using insulin, |
| 1:33.0 | and your ketones are off the chart to make it sound that ketones are very, very dangerous. |
| 1:38.0 | Then you have the USDA guidelines, which recommend that 65% of all your calories should be carbohydrates. |
| 1:45.0 | So then we know that if they recommend it, it must be true. |
| 1:48.0 | And they'll also say that your body likes to eat carbs because they're the first line of energy. |
| 1:53.0 | The body will always burn the carbs first before other energy sources like fat or ketones. |
