The Washington Capitals had a 2-0-0-0 lead on the road in Tampa and a 3-1 lead on the road in Tampa and just could not finish.

As they fall to the Tampa Bay Lightning by a final score of

4 to 3 in overtime for their first loss of this season as we welcome in to our Capitol's

And despite the Capitol's losing and the ice being tilted for the entire third period and into the overtime and the fact that Philip Grubauer is going to get credited with four

goals against and a loss, he does not deserve that, Alan, because he played out of his

mind to even keep the

caps in this game. No, he was absolutely amazing. And you look at, you know, him just coming in from

last year, last season, he was excellent all year, but the team was so much better with the balance

last season. So we expected this year to be really tough for the goaltenders. You look at, you know, the way he had to play tonight.

There were so many point blank shots.

I think the scoring chances were something like 26 to 18.

And, you know, really, Tampa had so many more in the last two periods.

The last period especially, they had 2017 shots.

They had 22 in third period in overtime.

At one point in the game and the third period, there was a power play where Tampa Bay had six point blank shots on them,

and every one of those could have easily been a goal.

I thought he was absolutely outstanding.

I commend his effort, and they all take take losses and the numbers go up. You saw

Braden Hopi and Ottawa, the same thing. They're concerned with the wins, the losses. The overtime
