I'm not sure I fully understood or even considered these concepts in rallying cries until COVID hit.

I grew up mired in messages normalizing landlords and rent and evictions and land ownership.

I never questioned that these were part of adult life.

I knew rents were high and getting higher, but I never asked myself why housing wasn't guaranteed.

Why safety wasn't guaranteed.

Why especially during a national crisis or an international crisis, but here in America, a national crisis,

we couldn't provide basic shelter for our own people.

I thought this way because of the ever ubiquitous scarcity mindset, one that we talk about a lot on this show.

The false idea that gaining one over others is the only way to protect yourself.

Darwinism, individualism, every man for himself.
