This is CBSI on the world. I'm John Batchel. I welcome Conrad Black's distinguished biographer writing his column for the National Post about a story that continues to turn and change.

The first time I came across the story of allegations of abuse of indigenous people's children

sometime between the 19th century and the early 20th century by the Canadian government,

the officials in Ottawa.

First time I saw the story was Conrad writing up the allegations of graves, unmarked graves or graves that may contain

indigenous children who died at schools run mostly by churches, the Roman Catholic Church and other

churches. And the allegation included abuse or mass graves, something like that.

It was all very eerie, and immediately there was a response from the government, led by Justin Trudeau,

a great sorrow lowering the flags at half-mast, and it continued for some time until Conrad informed me that there were

researchers saying that there was no evidence of the allegation, and that the graves that were in

question at first, there are two different provinces here, had not been examined. In fact, as of the

last telling, none of the graves, so-called, have been examined so that something,

if there's someone buried there, they can be exhumed and we can get some answers about what went on.

I'm constantly amazed about how this story keeps turning. Now I learn from you

that the Canadian government and churches in Canada have made a $7 billion reparations fund

for the claimed victims of the residential schools, which I think I just said there's no evidence there was abuse at the residential schools
