I do want to do thank you cards and have my son help write them but I hate to wait too long to get them out.

My husband suggested us opening the gifts so we can write the cards and our son can still help write them and he will probably not think much of it when he doesn't see the actual gift and just writes it.

I kind of just want to let him open them all now.

We are not the type to go over the type top for birthdays or Christmas.

We do just a few presents usually so this is a special occasion.

We're having just a little bit of behavioral issues with him right now and we are starting him on a chore chart.

So another idea we talked about was letting him get a present or two after he does chores for the week.

But for some reason that isn't sitting right with me.

I can't explain why exactly so just looking to hear people sobs on it.

Not sure if it's obvious or not he just feels like it would be too overstimulating to do it all at once.

I think he is also thinking our son will appreciate the gifts a little more getting them one or two at a time rather than all at once.

Which I get but I also get just being a kid and it's a special occasion.
