Have you ever been kept awake by a sound in the middle of the night? You lie in bed, wishing only for sleep, and the sound nags at you. Maybe even feels like it's growing in

strength, filling up every aspect of your consciousness until you can think of

nothing else. That's me when my neighbor's hot tub cycles on and off all night.

But what if you don't know what the sound is or where it's coming from?

Is it coming from outside?

Somewhere in the house? Is it coming from inside your head?

You might even think you're going crazy because you're lying there awake, obsessed with

this sound, and no one else around seems to hear it.

Can you hear the hum?

I woke her up and I said to the wife,

can you hear this noise?

And she's like, what noise?

She couldn't hear it.

It was strange because you would be in your bed and you would hear it was almost like a

digger driver or two digger driver driving about an adjacent field at half past 12

1 o'clock in the morning when you know there was nobody there and you would look and it would just be the wind blowing.

There was madness.

It's a very low-pitched hum.

The only way I can describe it is that there is a lorry, as we call it,

a semi-truck with its engine running,
