Hi friends, welcome back to the podcast. Today we are continuing on our metabolism series and I am

0:06.8

busting some myths on metabolism. So we're going to break down the myths. What I hear most often about

0:13.0

metabolism, I think I have four on here, explain what's actually true and help you understand how to

0:18.8

work with your metabolism and not against it. That way you can

0:22.0

start seeing results and stop spinning your wheels. So the first one I have on here is I can't lose weight

0:27.2

because my metabolism is slow or broken. This is probably the most common thing that I hear from

0:34.4

women and I totally get it because when you feel like you're doing

0:37.8

all of the things right you it feels like you're eating in a calorie deficit and you're getting

other things. But again, it's easier to blame something external rather than looking inward.

1:10.0

So I definitely hear this all the time. I know

1:12.3

that I went through this too where I thought that I probably had thyroid issues because it

1:17.1

runs in my family or something wrong with my metabolism and it was just I was super inconsistent.

1:24.2

And that's not the case for everybody. But the point I want to make here is that we cannot

1:28.6

break our metabolism.

1:30.8

It is adaptive.

1:31.9

So if you feel like it is slow, then there's likely a reason for that.

1:37.4

When, if you're someone, like I did, maybe you were under-eating for a long time, but then you

1:43.5

were also having these bouts of
