Last week on our climate change update, environmental journalists criticize their own industry,

the American News Media, for not using strong enough language to report on the impact of global warming.

Should we rename it climate emergency or climate crisis to better help news consumers understand and prepare, especially for increased threats to public health?

They based their call for more urgent warnings on multiple scientific studies, most recently the National Climate Change Assessment produced by the Trump administration and released late last year, but here's how President Trump reacted

to reporters' questions when it came out.

Now the administration is not just rolling back regulations to produce greenhouse emissions.

The phrase climate change is being removed from documents and speeches.

And the scientific method used to predict the impact of global warming is being challenged in departments across the

government. One of those is the Environmental Protection Agency, the EPA. Gina McCarthy is now

professor of the practice of public health at Harvard. She's director of the Center for Climate

Health, and she headed the EPA during the last four years of the Obama administration.
