Summary

The Thunder are the NBA’s best team and serve as a target the Lakers can shoot for when charting their path towards being a contender. Pete and Darius discuss what goes into chasing, and potentially catching, a team like OKC and how that differs between the regular season and the playoffs. And then later, the guys preview Wednesday’s game against the Spurs and Victor Wembanyama.

One of the things that stands out from watching them is there is a level of connectivity

1:28.1

that you can't fake, you can't rush, that is probably unachievable for this Lakers team that is

1:39.2

for years and years. Now, I do think they have some of that the Lakers do between Austin and

1:43.7

Rui and LeBron, right? They've got a few guys now that have played together for a minute, but nothing quite like what OKC has D. So I wanted to talk about that with you. That is the team the Lakers are ultimately chasing, right? We wrapped up yesterday's pod talking about how we feel good about this squad and that Lakers really have something,
