Unicorns!

Keanth exclaimed, throwing open the barn's doors two days later.

Our assholes!

Outside, Visk screeched agreement, shook out his feathers, and took to the evening sky.

"'It was telling that he didn't even wait for her dismissal,

"'not that Keyanth could blame him for being absolutely, wholeheartedly finished with their magical duty.

"'Being nearly gutted by a unicorn's knife-like horn would do that

to a griffin. And to a mage, actually. Behind a newly polished counter, Raina paused in

kneading a ball of dough. She was wearing a sleeveless shirt that showed off her muscular arms,

even if they were covered in flower right now.

She even had a smudge of flour on her cheek, and she looked so domestic that Kianth couldn't help

stomping over and sweeping her into a dramatic kiss. For added flourish, Kianth bent

Rana backward, dipping her toward the floor mostly to hear her startled laughter.

"'Good to be home.

"'No unicorns to be found here either.

"'Excellent.

"'Rena's cheeks were flushed when they straightened,
