Keyanth

The next morning,

Kianth paused over Rana's sleeping form,

chuckling, softly.

She hadn't seen Rana let loose like that in

Stone-dammed nearly a year. Not since they'd taken a

trip to Leonel and were offered coconut juice spiked with rum. After that occasion, Raina had been

out of commission most of the following day. Kianth expected this would be no different. She wouldn't have traded it for anything,

though, partially for the amusement of watching her girlfriend relax, but mostly because of their new

friends. Despite Kianz's teasing, Rana was fantastic at socializing. Her steady presence and confident nature put most people at ease.

After a decade of isolation as the Arcandor, it was a welcome change. Spending her childhood

surrounded by crotchety mages with grandiose ideas of Kiant's, didn't exactly lend to a decent social life.

She knelt beside Raina, her fingers drifting through the woman's long hair.

It was soft, smooth as silk.

Raina didn't stir at the touch, but she did start snoring.

Considering her normally quiet nature, the sound was

hilarious. Kianth pressed a kiss to her cheek, then left a huge glass of water on the bedside table.

As an afterthought, remembering Leonel, she plucked a few Hind and Larry leaves from her bag.
