As a parent of a teen, I think I have always aired on the side of giving my teen's space on the weekends

and allowing him to not hang out with me and go live his life, you know, especially his junior and senior year.

I want him to have memories, you know, with his friends, with his schoolmates.

So on the weekends that I have him, because I'm divorced and I have custody 50% of the time,

a lot of times I'll go, go do your thing, man. He wants to go to a party. He wants to stay out,

watch a basketball game, football game, even though that's on my time and it's so precious. I'm like, I don't want to be that drag parent, you know, that's like, no, we got to hang out until recently.

Because now I feel like we're on the clock.

Like he's graduating in just a couple of months, man.

He's going to be 18 in May.

That means he doesn't have to come to me at all.

I mean, the custody agreement is over when he turns 18 years old,
