Hello Andy. Hello and a very warm welcome to the late-breaking F-1 podcast presented by Sam Sage and me, Ben Hocking,

and we're back in preview mode because F-1's back this weekend with the Hungarian Grand Prix.

Sam, you've been, you've been big in this one up. I'm a bit, I am a bit worried that it's now going to suck, but you're optimistic. Yeah, it's a low-key banger is the Hungarian Grand Prix. I think if you look back through the years, more often than not, it's always a better than average race. I'm not saying it's the absolute slap of the season here. I'm not saying it's going to get another silver.

We've had a couple, but I'm not promising that, but I am promising that it's going to be a good

weekend. I think we're going to have a good time in Hungary. Thank you very much.

We'll see, depending on how our bold predictions go, which of course

is coming up later on in this episode. We've got our under pressure submissions, everything you'd

normally expect from a preview episode, some comments from Fernando Alonzo about the current

penalty system. You know, that's going to be spicy. But we are going to start with what is quickly becoming a difficult front of the grid to predict. And we're going to focus first on McLaren. So McLaren have come close to a win in recent times. Of course, they do have the win from Lando Norris at Miami this year. But arguably arguably they've come up short a few times where they

shouldn't have done. Sam, can they, and I guess how can they, avoid another near miss?

Near miss seems to be the word of their season, right? The phrase of their season. It feels like

it's general consensus around a lot of F1 fans and pundits and journalists that regularly McClaren throughout this season so far

have had across the majority of races now arguably since maybe just after the Japanese Grand Prix,

the fastest race car across the season so far.

They've been either equal to Red Bull or better than Red Bull in the majority of races that we've seen,

and yet they've only picked up one Grand Prix wing, and that, of course, as you mentioned, Ben, coming from Miami, which, you know, they're not lucky to because I think there was a chance of them getting it anyway. But they were definitely aided by a safety car coming out to help Landon Norris because of the timing of that. Whether he got the wing anyway or not, it's definitely possible. I'm taking away from him. But hey, you've got to race what you get. And he managed to race where that safety car came out and he picked up the wing. But I do think that that wing and only one wing is disappointed when both Ferrari, Mercedes and Red Bull now all have more than one victory. The fact that we're including Mercedes in that is pretty odd, right? Ben,

I know that you've got on our notes here. They haven't won three races since 2021 and now

the wrong track to potentially wing three in a row. Absolutely. I can't believe that they're the

team we're possibly going to be giving a three in the row too. And it should be McClaren. It should be.

The car is there. The driver line up, especially with Lando, the experience he the car is there the driver line up especially with

lando the experience he's got is there but then every single race they're making a little mistake
