Hello and a very warm welcome to the late breaking F1 podcast presented by Sam Sage and me, Ben Hocking, following an interesting, lengthy Hungarian qualifying, where McLaren

0:37.4

wrapped up a 1-2, Lando Norris on poll for tomorrow's

0:40.8

race ahead of his teammate, Oscar Piastri, Max Rastepin in third. A couple of red flags, Sam,

0:47.2

some interesting conditions. It made it a spicy afternoon. It was a real roller coaster of an event.

0:53.9

Once again, we had some highs and we definitely had some lows. And I must admit, whilst I do like a rather, you know, weather-impacted, uncertain qualifying session, I do think it was a bit of a shame that Sonod's red flag came out when it did with only a couple of minutes ago because you saw the likes of the staffing along so getting out of the cars before they even got kind of ready to go again. Lando Norris set his provisional poll time on his first run.

1:39.5

Oscar Piastri could not beat that on his second run.

1:41.9

And before Lando Norris could get his second run done,

1:45.2

the red flag for Sonoda came out. That left about two and a half minutes on the clock when the session resumed, but no driver outside of Daniel

1:50.0

Ricardo was able to improve their time, meaning Lando Norris held on to that first place.

1:56.6

Obviously, we've got Max Verstappen directly behind the top two, Sam, but it's very much a two versus one scenario.

2:03.3

How impressed were you by the McLaren duo?

2:05.8

And do you think Vastappen can do anything about it tomorrow?

2:08.5

This is exactly what McLaren is going to do.

2:10.4

This is the first time I think we've seen the pure pace that that papaya machine is capable of deploying.

2:17.5

Everyone was going wild, myself including when Max Verstappen delivered a lap that seemed to be far and above everyone else.
