And so as you know by now, if you don't know, that every week we take a question out of the

email grab bag and my staff sent it over to me and we go into it and seek to answer it right here and hopefully it's universal enough

so that everyone gets something from the question even though the questioner is asking specifically for

him or her I think it's always universal enough for all of us to receive something from it.

So welcome to take back your mind. Life Question of the Week. This person is from New Zealand.

Her name is Jen. She says this. Recently I listened to portions of an audio book about how to

gain power through manipulation and deception in a world where

others are trying to gain power over you through the same means. I know that love is the answer

and that fear causes great suffering. Yet, I've been tempted by this idea of having power to further

my goals. But I don't want it at the expense of others.

From a spiritual perspective, how can one gain power in a world that has many players who seem to

only care about power, whether it's your boss, major corporations, a friend, or a co-worker, can love and power coexist.

It's a good question, Jen.

First of all, let's define our terms, so we have a greater understanding of the question.

There is power, I call what I call power, and there is what I call pseudo power, fake power,

counterfeit power.

The power we see in the world by dictators and politicians and soulless bureaucrats, that's called

pseudo power. That's not real power.

That's power from the ego.
