Not Another One. Yes, welcome back to the Not Another One podcast. And I sort of announced it in a slightly West country voice, because for those of you who don't know, perhaps are new to the podcast, the name of our podcast doesn't just reflect.

There are quite a few political podcasts out there.

But do you remember Brenda from Bristol when she was told that Theresa May was having a snap election?

That's where the name comes from if you hadn't realised before. Well, it's difficult to know

where to start this week. So much is happening in politics. But we're glad you're with us and who is us?

It's meet in Montgomery. Steve Richards is also with me in the studio. Miranda Green is at home.

Unfortunately, our fourth normal musketeer.

Ian Martin isn't with us today.

All this week, for all this week's additions,

because he's almost doing proper musketeering.

He's running a really important London Defence Conference this week,

and he's focused on that.

But we haven't been together since the local elections.

So I think, Steve, I'm going to ask you first of all.

We predicted last week that Reform would win Runcorn and they just about did by six votes.

And I know Reform expected to win that more comfortably

but it didn't quite happen but on the other side the gains that they made in local government

were much much bigger than they expected and the most interesting sort of data I've seen since

those elections is also the number of second places that reform now hold, which is potentially very good position for them to be for the future.

So I think that was the story of the night. Would you agree? Or was there other things you felt, the decline of the Conservative Party?

There's so many things happening in politics.

Well, so many, and they're all interconnected, of course.
