governments are increasingly worried about it. The new buzzphrase is digital sovereignty.

But what does that mean? Is it even feasible?

To discuss this, I'm joined by Stanley Pignale, Europe editor at The Economist,

Cecilia Recap, Associate Professor in Economics and Head of Research at the UCL Institute

for Innovation and Public Purpose, and Seb Johnson, founder of Scaling Europe,

a media company focused on European tech. Stanley Pino, when we look at Britain,

Europe's governments and businesses as well, how much do we all depend on US tech?

Well, quite a lot. When it comes to digital services, so things like cloud computing or social networks or AI models or things like payments, the biggest companies and sometimes the only providers are American firms.

Now, that's always been the case, but it's become more of a concern, A, because it's become more

the case, but also because of the political environment with Donald Trump in America suggesting

he could kind of leverage that position. Right. Okay. Cecilia, Stanley mentioned the cloud. I think you're just
