My dad died when I was nine years old and it broke something in me.

I spent lots of times homeless, causing even bigger rifts in the family.

I was out of control.

Green Pastures is a Christian charity providing homes and support for people facing homelessness across the UK.

As soon as I walked in that place,

I knew there was something different about it.

Through Green Pastures,

Andy found a home,

freedom from addiction,

and a new beginning in faith.

It's the best thing I've ever done.

It released me from that 23 years of addiction.

And now I'm senior support worker here at Green Pastures Derby.

And this evening we are in the

wonderful surroundings of the Leicester Secular Hall. We're being hosted by the Leicester Secular Society

for a debate between Dennis Alexander and last minute substitute John Kat. So I'll explain more as we go along.

First of all, what we're going to do is we're going to hear Dennis give an opening presentation.

And the question is, does theism or atheism make more sense of evolution by natural selection?

So Dennis is now going to give a talk and then we're going to allow John to respond to that.
