I'm your host, Peter Souterman. Trump's tariffs are already taking a toll. So we today are going to talk about whether there's anything anyone can do to push back. We're also going to

examine the many, many arguments that Trump's defenders are making in favor of the trade levies. But

before we get into the weeds, let's talk about what this means to ordinary Americans. And by

ordinary Americans, I mean the four of us. So most ordinary Americans are going to feel the impact of Trump's tariffs in a

direct and personal way. And I want to start by going around the panel and just asking about

the practical effects of Trump's new tariff regime. What is one thing that you are personally

worried about, one specific effect of the tariffs that you want to highlight? Catherine,

let's start with you first.

The ordinary American I want to talk about is my 11-year-old son, who is pretty upset about

the prospect that pre-orders and delivery of the switch to the new Nintendo handheld is

going to be delayed or maybe more expensive.

This kid has been saving his money for a long time to afford the Switch 2.

And wouldn't it be sad if because for some reason we decided to impose 24% additional tariffs on Japanese exports, that that would screw things up.

Also important to remember, the president of Nintendo America is named Doug Bowser.

I just need everyone to know that.

Did he take that name after being named?

It's his nom de Nintendo, maybe.

Yeah.

At least it's not Kirby.

Kirby Bowser, right?

Is the president of Sony America named Sonic? If only.
