My op-ed over harbinreport.com today is titled, is it possible for America to be both democratic?

And I mean, small d-democratic, not the political party, and fully integrated.

Frankly, I believe the answer is yes.

Chris Christofferson famously saying everybody's got to have somebody to look down on.

And that's the problem.

The American experiment is basically facing a new test.

Can we be a multi-racial, multi-religious, multi-gender identity,

multi- you know, society functionally and retain our democracy?

How do we overcome this natural human tendency to self-segregate and to demonize the other?

This is a real problem. I mean, we're seeing this particularly around race,

you know, and this is not an issue that's unique to the United States, by the way.

Right now, race is tearing apart Israel and South Africa, for example.

Multiple countries in Europe, because of Russia's bombing of Syria and our bombing of Iraq and

Afghanistan, are dealing with major refugee problems, refugees who don't look like or
