Let's turn over to 2 Peter chapter 1,

and I want to continue along the lines of what I've been teaching this whole time.

In 2 Peter chapter 1, this is the Apostle Peter, of course, that was writing this.

And in verse 1, chapter 1, verse 1, it says, Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ

to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and of our Savior Jesus Christ.

Do you know that first verse is loaded? I've preached on this for a week on one verse.

I'm not going to do that tonight, but I can't help but just mention it. You need to study it on your own.

It says to those who have obtained,

it's already done. This isn't something that can be obtained if you'll just do everything right.

God has already given every one of us who've been born again like precious faith with him.

What kind of faith did the apostle Peter have? Well, his faith was so strong

that he would walk along and his shadow would touch people and they would be healed. Peter raised

dorcas from the dead. Peter walked on water. Man, Peter was awesome. He stood strong at the end.

He failed, you know, before the crucifixion of Jesus. But after that, he stood strong at the end. He failed, you know, before the crucifixion of Jesus.

But after that, he stood strong at the end.

And tradition has it that he was crucified upside down

because he said he wasn't worthy to be crucified the same way that his master was.

And he stayed strong unto death and died in Rome.

And this man who had that great faith says you have already obtained
